I’m getting my race tires flipped by a mechanic friend who autocrosses and understands that balancing race wheels well is important. Unlike my regular shop.

I’m having a nice time explaining the ins and outs of autocrossing with the other mechanics. I guess the details don’t come up regularly for my friend.

For those who don’t know, due to the intense use, the outside of the tire footprint wears much more quickly, so one flips that to the inside to get more life.

I just turn them inside out.

Reversible tires - slicks on one side, all-seasons on the other.

Just take a few runs in reverse, that’ll do the trick.
